Village residents across the district could be one step closer to getting online after a conference in Coggeshall.
The Essex Parishes Broadband Conference, held on Thursday looked at different solutions for residents with poor broadband connection living in rural areas.
Councillors, representatives and residents were shown options including Satellite, 3G and village-wide wireless.
The event was hosted by Essex Association of Local Councils, Rural Broadband Partnership, Country Land and Business Association, Race Online 2012 and County Broadband, who are looking to provide any new broadband service.
Unlike towns it is often difficult for rural areas to get a strong broadband signal.
Parish councillor, Malcolm Salmon said broadband in Rivenhall is reasonable but often not strong enough to download music, films or TV.
He said: “We are hopeful there are improvements that can be made but at the minute the time scale is around 18 months.
“Each household that wants broadband will have to pay an individual fee so I anything they offer will need to be affordable for people across the parish.”
