PLANS have been published for the development of 98 homes in Great Oakley.

Residents are being invited to have their say on the plans for the scheme which will provide a mix of apartments, bungalows and houses on land off Beaumont Road.

As part of the build, more public open space will be made available and an improved public footpath through the site.

Great Oakley Developments Ltd, who will be carrying out the works, is hosting a public consultation exhibition outside the village hall, in Lewin Road, so residents can give their thoughts.

The proposed site, which the developers have said will “complement the village” is located south west of Beaumont Road in the southern part of Great Oakley, and is adjacent to the allotments and Woodlands and The Oaks.

Discussions with Great Oakley Parish Council about providing new and improved community facilities for the village are also ongoing, such as a new pavilion building for the sports field.

A car park for the allotments, and a contribution towards improved accommodation at the existing village hall are two other proposed ideas.

You can attend the consultation event on May 21, between 4pm and 8pm, and May 22, between 10am and 2pm.

If unable to attend, all the information presented at the exhibition can be found on the consultation website, along with a feedback form on www.greatoakley-beaumontroad-consultation.co.uk.
