A BUSINESS which struggled with several unfortunate setbacks to reopening will return to the high street this weekend – in a brand-new location.

Independent clothing and gift shop Willow & Fox, originally located in Quest Place, will be coming back at its new location in 30 High Street, Maldon on Saturday (May 15).

The location is next to Maldon Coffee at the entrance to Edwards Walk.

Owner Allison Gray said: “Following two national lockdowns and a flood in my shop from the flat above just two weeks before I was due to reopen along with other high street businesses on April 12, I am finally extremely excited to announce we are back open.

“Having always had a career in the corporate world in London, starting a business in retail was a completely new challenge for me.

“The original shop in Quest Place was a fantastic place for a start-up business, but the success of Willow & Fox has allowed me to venture up to a more prominent location in the high street.

“I love Maldon and to live and work here is a dream come true.

“We have such a fantastic network of independent businesses, and to see everyone bounce back after lockdown is testament to the hard work we all put in.

“I can’t wait to welcome old & new customers back to Willow & Fox and get my doors open once again.

Allison is also chair of the Maldon Business Board and has confirmed the return of ‘Fiver Fest’ from June 12-16.

Willow & Fox will reopen at 10am and new mayor David Ogg is expected to conduct an official opening.
