All traffic on the Colchester-bound carriageway of the A12 has been stopped
Motorists are facing delays on the A12 this lunchtime after police were forced to stop traffic.
Officers have halted all cars on the northbound carriageway between junctions 23 and 24 at Kelvedon while debris is removed from the road.
It is not known how the debris has got onto the road.
Traffic maps show queues have already formed back to junction 23.

The debris has been moved and police have released traffic.
