The A120 has been closed in Great Notley this afternoon due to a serious collision.
Essex Police have closed the road near the Panners roundabout and are turning around trapped traffic.
The road has been closed in both directions.
The air ambulance has been spotted landing nearby.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call 101 and quote reference 0432.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are currently on the scene of serious collision on the A120 at GreatNotley.
"A road closure is in place on both sides of the road, including the on slip and the off slip roads.
"A female patient has been taken to hospital for treatment by air ambulance.
"We are urging people to avoid the area while we carry out our investigations."
