A PRIMARY school class was sent home to self-isolate after a child tested positive for coronavirus.
The youngster was a year six student at Mayflower Primary School, in Main Road, Dovercourt.
The positive case is the first to be confirmed at the school.
Liz Bartholomew, headteacher, said: "We followed all relevant procedures and sent all of his close contacts home to self-isolate for 14 days, but they return on Tuesday.
"The parents are incredibly supportive and they were very complimentary about how swiftly we acted and about the quality of home learning on offer.
"We are very pleased the pupil involved is now better and ready to return to school."
