THERE are plenty of places to purchase poppies from in Harwich and Manningtree to remember our fallen heroes.

Manningtree's Poppy Appeal launched last weekend and poppies can be collected from the war memorial in High Street, tomorrow, Saturday and all of next week between 11am and 3pm.

Poppies can also be bought from Ardleigh's service station; the Wooden Tender; and the village shop.

They can also be bought from Bradfield Post Office, Mistley Thorn, and Mistley Post Office as well as Honeycroft Post Office, in Lawford, and Lawford’s service station.

In Manningtree, the poppies can be collected from Howells, Gifts and Greetings, De’aths Bakery, Cafe Rio, Estuary Wine Bar, The Skinners Arms, The Crown, The Lion, Barclays, Moby Vic’s, Mobyz Ink, Saddlers, Boots, Riverside Chippy, Car Spa, Station Buffet, Tesco Express and the Co-op.

Residents can also get their poppy from Morrisons, in Dovercourt.

A Poppy Appeal spokesman said: “Please try and support this year’s appeal. There are more ex-servicemen living on the streets, mental illness from past conflicts, poverty within their families, but help costs money.

“We need your help to help them.”
