NO further deaths related to Covid-19 have been reported at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital.

NHS England also reported no further deaths at any of the hospital trusts in the East of England in its daily update.

East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust, which runs both Colchester and Ipswich hospitals, has not recorded the death of a patient diagnosed with the coronavirus since last Thursday, July 2.

The figures record deaths against the date they happened, rather than the date the deaths were announced.

NHS England revealed a further 11 people who tested positive for the virus have died in hospitals in England with patients aged between 72 and 95-years-old.

All patients had underlying health conditions.

This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,077.

Face coverings should be mandatory in shops, according to the president of the Royal Society.

Dr Venki Ramakrishnan, who also sits on the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) to discuss coronavirus, told Good Morning Britain the evidence is “strongly in favour” of using coverings in enclosed spaces.
