A council has urged residents to maintain social distancing when pubs and restaurants open tomorrow.

Maldon District Council are encouraging punters to be responsible and consider others when they return to pubs and restaurants for the first time since March.

Cllr Adrian Fluker said: "I am very pleased that pubs and restaurants across the District will be able welcome customers back to their premises from this weekend.

"However, it is important that everyone continues to follow the Government guidance and the measures which have been put in place by each establishment for you own safety and wellbeing.

"I know it has been a long time since we have been able to visit pubs and restaurants, but I would urge everyone to maintain social distancing, drink responsibly and be considerate to others."

Maldon District Council are also encouraging business to go al fresco by taking advantage of outside space.
