A FLAG which was raised to celebrate the nation’s armed forces is set to come down today.
Halstead raised a special Armed Forces Day flag last Friday to celebrate Armed Forces Day at the weekend.
Since then, the flag has flown proudly from the flagpole in Halstead Public Gardens and has symbolised the town’s support for the British Armed Forces.
They flag is also the town’s way of paying respect to forces veterans and current servicemen and women who continue to keep the nation safe.
The flag is set to be taken down today with its week-long run now over.
It will be replaced with the red, white and blue of the Union Flag.
