GOLFERS grabbed the chance to return to the greens as lockdown eased – and took personal protective equipment to a whole new level.

Burnham on Crouch Golf Club reopened last week after two months of lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Keen golfers Rob Atkins and Will Davey were thrilled to get back into the swing of things again on the course’s immaculate greens and fairways.

Golfers are urged to maintain social distancing and take any other sensible precautions against Covid-19.

But Rob and Will may have gone a bit too far after donning diving masks and snorkels before teeing off.

Rob said: “We did request a ruling on the mask as to whether it would be classed as one mask or two bearing in mind they are amphibious.

“The masks were a bit uncomfortable ... but made it easy to find balls in the pond!
