A SHOPPING centre has seen a 93 per cent decline in footfall compared with the same time last year.
Martin Leatherdale, centre manager at Lion Walk, said the gathered data showed lockdown and social distancing measures are working.
The centre recorded 12,405 visitors in the week commencing March 30, and 11,080 last week.
By comparison, Lion Walk recorded 169,673 visitors during the same week last year.
Mr Leatherdale said: "This is demonstrating the government's lockdown and social distancing protocol delivered its strongest impact in the centre yet, especially considering Easter weekend coupled with the glorious weather.
"It is a great response."
