POLICE have made a fourth arrest after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash.

It comes after a 41-year-old man from Witham died after his motorbike was involved in a collision with a van along Witham Road, Cressing, on Sunday.

Essex Police says a 40-year-old man from Witham was arrested yesterday, Tuesday 24 March, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

He has been released under investigation.

Three other men were arrested on Monday.

A 36-year-old of no fixed address and a 29-year-old from Witham were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 44-year-old man from Colchester was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.

All three have also been released under investigation.

A force spokesman said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances around this collision. From our enquiries so far, we believe the victim was one of a group of motorcyclists travelling together shortly before the collision.

"We’d like to thank witnesses who have come forward so far."
