A CELEBRATION of art and literature will be coming to a village this month.

The OutPost project aims to promote “little-known” areas of Essex through artists and writers exhibiting their work in places which have inspired them.

The latest series in the exhibition will take place on the field next door to St Peter’s Chapel, Bradwell, on Sunday.

Eight installations of poems by Philip Terry and photographs by Ian Cooper will be shown at the event.

Organiser Heidi Gilmour said: “The poem and the photograph pairings were directly inspired by the stretch of the River Blackwater at Bradwell and the location around the chapel, and it is a unique opportunity to view the works within the landscape which inspired the artists.

“This is a unique opportunity to see all the different elements of this series of work inspired by St Peter’s Chapel and the Blackwater Estuary come together.

"I think that these OutPost events and installations represent something not seen before in Essex – a chance to notice often overlooked areas of unique beauty or special interest.

"This weekend’s event is a wonderful chance to experience this diverse talent which draws upon the recognition of the unique landscape of Essex.”

The exhibition is open to the public and free.
