POLICE have confirmed they are investigating an attempted sexual assault in Silver End.
Detectives say the incident occurred sometime around 10pm on the playing field on Monday, in front of the Silver End Football Club pavilion.
A spokesman said: "We are continuing with house-to-house enquiries and, where appropriate, are gathering CCTV and dash cam footage."
Residents had noticed an increased police presence in the area and a cordon was spotted near the playing field on Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 1164 of January 13.
