A MAN who competes in races across the country in Star Wars fancy dress has won a contest for charity.
Lee Brace of Longfellow Road, Maldon, took part in the tenth London Pantomime Horse Race on Sunday.
The race involved people dressing up as horses in the style of the galactic saga to raise money for Help Rosie Walk, Make a Wish UK Foundation, and Harpenden Riding for the Disabled.
Lee said: “The opportunity was provided by my sponsors for the John O’Groats to Land’s End bike ride as a chance to end the year with a high.
“They came down from Manchester and we took part against 28 other horses dressed up as Star Wars characters and we won somehow.
“It was a great day and great finish to a fantastic year where I completed all my challenges, raised over £7k for my four nominated charities and then a further £1,500 to Make A Wish from the horse race.”
