Another month has passed by with yet more unwanted records tumbling when it comes to drug-driving.
Essex Police arrested a staggering 184 people on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs in November – four more than the previous record for a month, set in April.
While the work of the force is commendable, it is staggering to see how many drivers are putting not only their own lives, but others’ at risk.
The dangers of driving while under the influence are all too obvious yet it seems more and more motorists choose to take that risk.
Simply put, it is inexcusable to drug-drive and those caught by police should expect no mercy from the courts.
