FESTIVE events and activities were staged at an historic venue decorated to replicate a traditional Victorian Christmas.
Visitors to Bridge Cottage and Valley Farm at Flatford stepped back in time to learn Christmas craft techniques, all in front of a vast fireplace.
Workshops included wreath making and the art of making Christmas decorations as well as traditional games and story-telling.
Festive treats on offer included mince pies, sausage rolls and mulled wine.
Folk musician Andy Moss and a choir entertained visitors with traditional folk tunes and festive favourites.
Simon Peachey, who is the visitor experience manager at the National Trust property at Flatford, said the events were well received, with more than 1,600 people visiting over two weekends.
He said: “The events went really well.
“We had a lovely atmosphere and both parents and children enjoyed the activities.
“The events helped raise awareness and helped raise money for the vital conservation work in the area.
“All visitors were greeted by National Trust volunteers, who did a lovely job, giving people a very warm welcome.”
