The Maldon and Burnham Standard’s Café of the Year for 2019 has been announced.
St Peter’s Café in Spital Road, Maldon, has been voted the best café for the second year running by readers of the Maldon and Burnham Standard.
The hospital café beat off competition from three other nominees, including the Barge Tearooms, Maldon Coffee Company and Suzie’s Gift and Tea Shop.
Manager Julie Taylor took over the café more than four years ago.
She said: “It feels amazing to have won this award. To win it once was amazing, but two years in a row is just phenomenal.
“We’re all really happy and really proud.
“We had a bit of a celebration the other day.
“We’ve won quite a few awards over the last few years and each one just gets better and better.
“To everyone who voted for us – thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us win again.”
