BABY Elouise Simpson is living proof of the amazing capabilities of the health service.

Almost a year ago, Bethan Simpson and her husband Kieron were fearful they would have to give up their daughter due to debilitating spina bifida.

Yet, she is here today, healthy, smiling and showing no signs of a condition that resulted in advice that her parents terminate the pregnancy at 20 weeks.

With Elouise exceeding all expectations at six months old, it is a marvel of modern medicine that has allowed her to live her life like any other little girl.

Our doctors and nurses are capable of doing incredible things which even before birth can change the lives of so many.

We should be thankful for these incredible people who give their lives to helping others.

Without them, little Elouise may not have been here with us today.
