Two-year old Bonnie Wiseman was diagnosed with severe brain damage and Quad Dystonic Cerebral Palsy following complications at birth and a very small chance of survival.

Her parents, David and Steph began fundraising last weekend, Sunday September 1, with a go fund me page to raise donations for MAES Therapy which is dedicated to neuro-developmental conditions and movement disorders in babies and children.

Currently Bonnie is unable to crawl, walk or talk and need suctioning throughout the day to remove mucus from her lungs. She also cannot swallow so she has a button in her stomach which enables her to be fed.

Bonnie and her family spend a lot of time in hospital as she is prone to frequent stays caused by chest infections.

However, her parents have already noticed the benefits of the physical therapy and she has started to use babbling to communicate with her family.

David said: “Her muscles go from being like they are not there, so her movement is very loose to being to where she struggles to move.

“So far, it’s had a really good impact on Bonnie, she has more controlled movements and more movement in herself as well.

The family, of Witham, have currently raised £520 and are hoping to reach £9,500 towards in order for Bonnie to receive two hours of therapy a week. They are currently contacting local businesses in the hope of support or donations.

“Our aim from here is to just have a lot more control in her movements. At the moment, her muscles go from being as though she doesn’t really know they are there, so her movements are very loose and then another moment she will struggle to move at all.

“Her older sisters Daisy (9) and Honey (8) love helping out with the physical therapy and help out with moving Bonnie around.

The Go fund me page is ran by family friend Vicki O’Connor, whose children attend the same school as David and Steph’s eldest daughters.

“Vicki has brilliant, she has been there from the beginning and is always there when we need a chat.”
