A TALK on climate change will be held in Colchester next month.
Dr Larch Maxey from Extinction Rebellion UK will speak at Colchester Arts Centre at noon September 1.
Dr Maxey’s talk will describe the planet’s rapid trajectory towards climate collapse and how this could be slowed down by cutting carbon emissions within ten years.
The Time is Now will be followed by the opportunity to discuss Extinction Rebellion’s strategy and find out more about the movement.
The campaign will intensify pressure on the Government to declare a climate and ecological emergency and take urgent action for the UK to cut carbon emissions.
Dr Maxey has a PhD in sustainability and has been a climate change activist for the past 25 years.
He is on a year’s sabbatical volunteering for Extinction Rebellion.
The event is free but booking is advised. Visit www.colchesterartscentre.com/events.
Doors open at 11.30am and the event runs from noon until 2pm.
