A MAN and woman were spat at and threatened during an attempted robbery.

The pair, in their 60s were walking down Clements Green Lane, South Woodham Ferrers in the evening when they were approached from behind.

The two suspects, a man and woman demanded both their wallets, spitting at them and making threats.

They were walking down the path between Clements Green Lane and the Town Centre at the time of the incident.

It took place at around 9.30pm on Monday 19 July.

A police spokesman said: "We are asking if anyone in the area at the time may have witness the incident to please call us.

"The man has been described to us as in his 20s, white, about 6ft tall with short dark hair.

"He was wearing a dark t-shirt.

"The woman has been described to us as in her 20s with long blonde hair which was tied back in a ponytail."
