A PRIMARY school is over the moon after receiving stellar SATs results.

Year 6 pupils at Heybridge Primary School have achieved a combined pass rate of more than 90 per cent.

This marks the second year in a row in which they have soared above the national average, which stands at just 65 per cent.

Headteacher Simon Waltham said: “We are thrilled and incredibly proud to announce that our Year 6 children have achieved an amazing 92 per cent combined pass rate in their SATs this year.

“This is 27 per cent above the national average of 65 per cent and marks the second consecutive year where our outcomes have been significantly above the national.

“It is a testament to what our children can achieve, the commitment and work from both the children and the staff here to support learning, the support and belief in the school from the parents, and is another step closer to our aim of becoming an ‘outstanding’ school.

“Heybridge is part of the Kemnal Academy Trust and we are delighted that this outcome reflects both the school’s and TKAT’s ethos of inspiring learners and changing lives.

“We are, as always, Heybridge-proud.”

Last year, the school achieved an 85 per cent pass rate in SATs results, and it has been rated as ‘good’ by schools watchdog Ofsted since June 2016.
