A MOTORCYCLIST has been left with life threatening injuries after a crash on the A120 this afternoon.

Police were called at 3.50pm on Sunday, July 21, after reports a motorcycle had been travelling the wrong way on Thremhall Avenue when it was in collision with a silver car.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital by air ambulance with life threatening injuries.

The car driver, a woman in her 60s, has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident particularly those with dash cam footage.

"Please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting incident 922 of 21 July or by emailing collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.

"Thremhall Avenue remains closed with diversions in place.

"Those leaving the airport and wanting to join the M11, must travel on the A120 eastbound following signs to Colchester and Dunmow. Leave at the exit for Dunmow and re-join the A120 westbound carriageway.

Please expect delays and avoid the area where possible."
