A country road was blocked off following a three vehicle crash.

Traffic was heavy along Boars Tye Road in Silver End following the collision, which happened around 7am this morning.

Three vehicles are understood to have crashed near to the junction of Links Road.

Police were called to the scene and are urged drivers to avoid the area until 11am when the road was cleared.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a three-car collision on Boars Tye Road in Silver End shortly after 7am this morning, 8 July.

"It is believed that one of the drivers left the scene shortly after the incident.

"One man has suffered an injury to his arm which is not believed to be life-threatening.

"Drivers are advised to avoid the area whilst we arrange for recovery of the vehicles. No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing."
