A DEVOTED father left a handwritten note to his beloved son before taking his own life, an inquest heard.

Adam Janusiewicz, who was a dentist, was found hanged in a shed at his Colchester home by his estranged wife.

Giving evidence at an inquest into the death of the 56-year-old, investigating officer Acting Inspector Kettlety said he arrived at the home after paramedics.

He found no signs of any suspicious circumstances.

After interviewing Dr Janusiewicz’s wife, he found the deceased had lived with his adult son after the couple separated.

Mr Kettlety said: “His son had been abroad at the time and had been for a number of days.

“She came into the premises using a set of keys she still possessed.

“She came into the garden and found Adam. She told me she hadn’t spoken to him for quite some time and on arrival at the premises at first couldn’t really work out where he was. His car keys were still at the premises.”

Dr Janusiewicz was born in Warsaw, Poland, but lived in Colchester at the time of his death in February.

He had ordered a present from online shopping service Amazon, concealing a handwritten note inside the parcel.

Mr Kettlety added: “I am told there was a package from Amazon which had a present in it for his son and hidden within that parcel was the letter.”

Assistant coroner Jonathan Goodman concluded Dr Janusiewicz took his own life.

He said: "A primary document I have to consider is a handwritten letter, written in Polish and translated for me.

“I have reached the conclusion Adam was a devoted father but beyond a reasonable doubt it is my conclusion that he took his own life and intended to do so.”
