DETECTIVES have urgently appealed to find three men after a man was left in a life threatening condition when attacked on a night out.

Essex Police said the victim, aged in his 20s, was knocked unconscious and taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, after the assault in Maldon's High Street around 8.50pm last night (Saturday June 29).

Another man was assaulted and was taken to hospital by land ambulance for his injuries, which are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

Essex Police said it received information that three men were seen running away from the scene and it is making enquiries to locate them.

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Daniel Stoten said: "I need to hear from anyone who was in the High Street, particularly in the areas of the Oakhouse Bar and Poundstretchers between 8pm and 9pm.

"To the three men that were involved in this incident – I know who you are. I suggest that you make contact immediately.”
