COLCHESTER Ambassadors are launching an event to highlight the ripe climate for business growth.

The Ambassadors, a group of inspirational business people who run many of the borough’s key organisations, will be sharing their vision for the town at an Innovate Colchester event which is being staged at Essex University’s Essex Business School from 4.30pm on Monday.

Guest speakers include Alex Golledge, deputy agent for the Bank of England South East and East Anglia, and Professor Maria Fasli, who is director of the ESRC Business and Local Government Data Research Centre, based at the university.

They will be followed by a presentation from Paul Bleck, managing director of Bartech Marine Engineering, about the projects which have taken place in the past year in the town or are under way.

Mr Bleck said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring together many of the town’s business people to hear about exciting changes taking place, which will help boost employment opportunities for the growing population.

“As well as investment by businesses, educational establishments and local authorities in our town centre, business parks and wider facilities across the borough, millions are being poured into road and rail infrastructure, supported by superfast broadband.”

Karen Ainley, who is the chief executive of Mosaic – The Integrated Marketing Agency, will lead a panel discussion of guest speakers including Russell Jervis, managing director of Spicerhaart, Christopher Gallop, group managing director of Cloudfm and Simon Blaxill, managing director of Kent Blaxill.

Businessmen and women can book a place by emailing Julie.hunt@colchester.gov.uk.
