AN EIGHTH man has been arrested in connection with a town centre brawl that happened earlier this year.
A 22-year-old from Tottenham, London, was arrested on May 10 on suspicion of affray and released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The arrest comes in connection with a large fight that broke out in Market Place, Braintree, on January 5 at around 5.20pm, which resulted in a teenager being stabbed in the hand and sustaining life-changing injuries.
A 19-year-old man from Braintree arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of drugs has been released on bail until July 31.
Another 19-year-old man from Braintree arrested on suspicion of a public order offence has been released on bail until July 31.
A 52-year-old man from Braintree arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon and grievous bodily harm has been released on bail until July 31.
A 22-year-old man from Chelmsford arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of drugs and grievous bodily harm has been released on bail until July 31.
Two men aged 19 and 21 from Braintree arrested on suspicion of affray have been released under investigation.
And three men aged 49 and 22 from Braintree and a 40-year-old from Witham were voluntarily interviewed on suspicion of affray.
