A 12-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car in Braintree.
Both the police and ambulance service attended the incident in Cressing Road earlier this morning following reports of a collision.
The road was shut for a while as an air ambulance was called out to assist paramedics.
The boy has since been taken to hospital with what police say are "non-life threatening" injuries.
