A TEENAGER has admitted drink driving after crashing into a police car, almost hitting an officer in Bures.
Madelene Purkiss, 19, of Station Road in Wakes Colne has been banned from driving for 14 months after the accident on Sunday March 3 at 10.25pm.
Purkiss' Ford Fiesta collided with the police car after officers had stopped to secure a tree that had fallen into the road in high winds on Hall Road.
Despite the vehicle having all of its emergency lights on, Purkiss drove towards it at speed.
She narrowly missed hitting one of the officers at the scene and hit the wing mirror of the car.
After failing to stop police then followed her towards Wakes Colne, where she tested positive for being under the influence of alcohol.
In addition to her disqualification, Purkiss must pay a three-figure fine, a victim surcharge and court costs.
Purkiss admitted the charge on April 10 at Colchester Magistrates Court.
