The A120 is CLOSED westbound after a lorry overturned and shed its load of cement blocks this afternoon (March 11).
The lorry jack-kniffed before shedding 20 tonnes of cement blocks across the carriageway between Dunmow and Stansted Airport at around 1.30pm.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We’re asking drivers to avoid the westbound A120 between Dunmow and Takeley, as the road is currently blocked by an overturned lorry.
"There are no serious injuries reported.
"We are working with partner agencies to try and clear the road as quickly as possible, but it is likely to be closed for a number of hours as the lorry and its load needs to be removed.
"There is also damage to the road surface and barrier, and a fuel spillage. We ask drivers to please find alternative routes and thank them for their patience.
"We have made Stansted Airport aware and anyone travelling to the airport for a flight is advised to contact their airline operator directly if they have any concerns.
We are aware of an incident on the #A120 affecting traffic heading from #GreatDunmow towards #Stansted. Colleagues at @EssexPoliceUK and @ECFRS are on scene, with the road blocked at present, and we are sending additional resources to assist. Be aware if heading to @STN_Airport
