DRIVERS were left frustrated this morning (March 11) after a huge lorry blocked a rural road.
The lorry was blocking Oak Road, in Rivenhall, between the junction with Rickstones Road and a railway bridge which has height restrictions.
It was there for almost two hours before eventually leaving.
Aftermath: The scene after the lorry left
It is the latest in a long line of incidents where lorries have either tried to turn around to avoid the bridge or have hit it.
New signs which road bosses hope will make lorry drivers more aware of the bridge are expected to be in place by the end of this month.
The signs will show weight and height limits on the approach to the bridge and are expected to cost £23,500.
However, plans to re-route lorries which are too tall away from the area have been put on hold until Highways England announces its plans to improve the A12.
