POLICE shut a busy road after a smash between three cars.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Ipswich Road and Valentines Drive, Colchester, late on Wednesday night after the crash.
Fortunately, no-one was badly hurt in the incident.
However, traffic was diverted away from the busy route for several hours.
Specialist officers helped move the cars out of the road and clear the carriageway of debris.
An East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust spokesperson said: “An ambulance attended a road traffic accident at the junction of Ipswich Road and Valentines Drive late on Wednesday evening.
“One person was assessed at the scene but was not taken to hospital.”
One man was taken to A&E by police after being arrested on suspicion of drug driving and dangerous driving.
