ONE person has been taken to hospital after a car flipped over on a rural road.

The car overturned on Coggeshall Road, between Coggeshall and Feering, at around 8am today.

Rush hour drivers were forced to find alternative routes with the road blocked by the crash for around two hours.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision in Coggeshall Road this morning (Monday, January 14) at 8am.

"We sent one ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene to treat two patients.

"One was taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment."
