TWO men are being quizzed by police following reports a handgun was spotted in Braintree.
It comes after residents in Woodfield Road and Mount Road reported seeing firearm officers around midday on Friday.
Essex Police has confirmed officers were called out to reports two men had allegedly been seen carrying a handgun in public.
A spokesman added: "Officers arrived and established that two men were in possession of an imitation firearm.
"An 18-year-old man from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and possessing a firearm.
"A 20-year-old man from Harwich was arrested on suspicion of drug possession."
Both men remain in police custody for questioning.
