A MAN has been taken to hospital with "serious head injuries" after police were called to reports of a fight.
Officers were called to Fairfield Road, Braintree, where they arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "A man has been arrested following an incident in Braintree.
"We were called to an address in Fairfield Road at around 10am to reports of a fight involving two men.
"We attended and found a man with a head injury. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.
"A 31 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker and is currently in custody."
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to The Depot at Fairfield Road, Braintree this morning following reports that a man had been assaulted.
"A patient with serious head injuries was transported to hospital by air ambulance."
