Colchester actor, playwright and director Phoebe Stringer is making good use of her Christmas holidays.

Currently studying drama and theatre at Royal Holloway University in London, she’s bringing her new play to her hometown this week.

Three Fish in a Tree is a story about Poppy, Sasha and Max and how they tackle neurodiversity in each of their lives, focussing on ADD, dyslexia and autism.

Phoebe says: “We want to show how people living with these conditions are utterly extraordinary and uniquely positive rather than the stereotypes they are given throughout their lives.

“The piece is a collaboration between art and theatre and explores the many ways humans can communicate. The art work has been created by a number of people who have experience with ADD, dyslexia and Autism. We also teamed up with Runnymede (near Royal Holloway university, which is where we study) art societies, special needs group and spent a morning with them creating a canvas.”

Starring Lucy Doig, Grace Petrie and Liam Donnelly, Three Fish in a Tree runs at the Minories Gallery from tonight, December 19, until Friday, December 21 at 7.30pm.
