So in the wake of the collapse of the garden communities we could now become Silicon Valley?
Another ill-thought out, grandiose scheme that will inevitably fail through its own lack of viability.
Pattiswick is a relatively remote hamlet, away from main transport links, a place where we struggle to get even basic internet and mobile phone reception.
What we do have is an amazing rural environment of ancient woodland, fields, bridleways and footpaths, which draws walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, horse riders and photographers from across the district and beyond.
It will be obliterated if this plan succeeds. Why is Braintree Council reconsidering this plan which would not only destroy our village but seriously damage the environments of neighbouring rural communities, including Stisted, Coggeshall, Bradwell and Greenstead Green?
Surely what everyone wants is gradual, integrated and sustainable development, not these harebrained, quick-fix schemes that make fortunes for developers at the expense of our environment?
