Police have thanked the public for their help in identifying a pedestrian who was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car.
The accident took place in Colchester Road, Thorpe, last night at around 10.20pm.
Essex Police were called to the scene after reports were made a pedestrian had been hit by a silver Citroen Xsara Picasso.
A spokesman said: "Officers and paramedics arrived and the pedestrian, a white man aged between 20 and 40 years, was taken to hospital by air ambulance."
Anyone who witnesses the collision is asked to call Essex Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting incident 1361 of November 2.
No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.
