One lane of the A12 is blocked this morning due to an accident involving a lorry and a car.
A section of the Londonbound carriageway is blocked at Eight Ash green.
Queues are already stretching back towards the Ardleigh turn off, a distance of around eight miles.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
A man was also spotted walking beside the A12 carriageway this morning, however it is not know if this is related to the road closure.
