A business tour bus will be making a pit stop in Colchester next month.

This year’s Small Business Saturday tour bus is set to be visiting Colchester High Street on Wednesday 7 November.

This gives small business owners a chance to take part in mentoring sessions and get involved with live interviews, of local dignitaries, broadcast on the famous blue sofa.

This is in light of the Small Business Saturday campaign on December 1, where people are encouraged to support their local businesses.

Jeremy Hagon, campaigner for Small Biz Saturday in Colchester who helped organised this year’s visit said “It’s exciting news the Small Business Saturday iconic bus tour has chosen to visit Colchester this year, a testament to many small businesses and entrepreneurs working in our town and across the Borough, providing services and employment opportunities to local communities.

“I encourage anyone who is running a business and those perhaps considering taking that leap into starting their own to come along to the High Street on Wednesday 7 November and speak with the members of the Small Biz Saturday team.”

Councillor Darius Laws, Colchester conservatives group leader said “'SMEs are the backbone of the British economy and it is incumbent on local authorities to create an environment where businesses can flourish, this means ensuring the historic old town centre is clean and safe.

“I'm also confident the establishment of the new Business Improvement District will take Colchester forward which is a positive for all.”
