AN X Factor singer will be performing his latest music in Maldon this weekend.

Maldon-born singer Sam Callahan will return to his old workplace at The Oakhouse in High Street on October 27.

Mr Callahan, 24, first came to fame with his appearance on ITV’s The X Factor five years ago.

He was eliminated in week six of the live finalists in the show’s tenth season.

Since then, he has released more music including two releases and his new song “Stitches and Scars” which was released last month.

This homecoming gig will also act as a lead-up to his new album due to be released next year.

He said: “This new single and the forthcoming album is a very independently produced project, I have such big aspirations, and I’m really looking to get much more impact globally, but I’ve discovered that in order to do that, you have to go back.

“Getting back to the roots is the key to going forward and going back to perform in the bar I once worked feels like a natural way to present it.

“I’m very much looking forward to my homecoming gig in Maldon, I haven’t done local tours in a while, and it’s the town I grew up in, so it should be special.”

Fans can check out his latest single “Stitches and Scars” on Youtube.

His gig, Homecoming, will start from 8pm.
