Members of the public shockingly filmed CPR being performed on a badly injured teenager.

Officers were called to a crash involving a red Honda motorbike and a silver Vauxhall van in Halstead High Street shortly before 8.30pm on Friday, September 21.

Police and paramedics arrived and the motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man, was taking to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

But a police officer has said some people at the scene were caught filming CPR being performed on the young man.

His parents then found out footage had been posted on social media.

He remains in a critical condition.

The van driver, a 22-year-old man from Halstead, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area around this time and saw or has dash cam footage of the incident.
