This weekend one of the area’s most popular and long running music festivals takes place.

Now called Kelvedon Community Festival, it runs tomorrow at the village’s Recreation Ground from Noon to 7pm.

As in previous years, organisers have lined-up a whole host of super local solo acts and bands including Wivenhoe’s Helen Connelly, new band about town Leyline Pass (pictured above), also based in the estuary town, and the Kubricks, who headline the Main Stage from 6pm.

Joining them will be the likes of Glass Onion, Johnny B Goode, J S and Lockerbillies and Kelvedon Dance Studios who will literally kick-off proceedings at 12pm.

Over on the Pink Shed stage, which is curated by Colchester promoters Polly Haynes and Tom Eyers, Leyline Pass will be playing on a bill that also includes Hemmingway, Litter of Kings, Keith Sadler and Hot Tramp, who are headlining the stage from 5.35pm.

As well as the music there’s plenty to entertain both young and old from craft stalls, a special kids zone, plenty of food and drink and a special silent disco area with DJs such as Toph, Joshwa and Jamie Kelly.
