Police have confirmed a body found in Faulkbourne last month is that of Chris May.
Formal identification of the body found has now taken place after it was found in woodland by a member of the public.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are now able to confirm the body is Chris May, 28, from Kelvedon, who went missing in May 2015.
"Detectives are continuing to establish his final movements in preparation for an inquest being held in October later this year.
"Anyone with any information regarding Chris’s death is asked to contact the North Major Investigation Team on 101."
It comes after a call was made on May 13, by a member of the public, who reported the discovery of a body in woodland in Faulkbourne.
The body, which has now been confirmed as being Chris May, was forensically recovered and a post-mortem examination was inconclusive.
Mr May's body was found just miles from where his car was last seen in Troys Chase, Fairstead.
