Two police officers located a man in a mental health crisis and gave him first aid until an ambulance arrived.
Braintree officers PC Jack Mcmullan and volunteer police officer SC Simon Jesse were patrolling when they were dispatched following concerns for a man’s welfare.
A worried relative said he was in his car in a rural location in North Essex and SC Jesse's knowledge of the surrounding rural area helped them reach him within 15 minutes.
They found the man unconscious and gave him first aid until an ambulance crew arrived shortly afterwards and took him to hospital.
SC Simon Jesse said: "It was very sad to see how distressed he was.
"I’m glad we were able to get there quickly so he could be taken to hospital to get the help he needed."
PC Jack Mcmullan said: "This job shows the wide variety of incidents that we attend daily and how those in mental health crisis need our help."
