SCHOOL children took over Langford’s Museum of Power during Takeover Day – a celebration of young people’s contributions to museums, art galleries and heritage sites.
Children in Year 5 at Wentworth Primary School, Maldon, and Year 4-6 at St. Andrew's Junior School, Hatfield Peverel, spent the day helping to run the museum, last Friday **November 20**.
Alongside showing films they had made, giving guiding tours and teaching visitors how to make animations, they received visits from MPs John Whittingdale and Priti Patel.
Speaking before Takeover Day, coordinated nationally by charity Kids in Museums, Essex County Council cabinet member John Spence said: “National days, such as this are a chance for the younger generation to put their ideas to the test and to embrace their creative side.”
