Braintree has some of the worst drivers in Essex, according to figures released by the DVLA.
The CM7 postcode came in the top ten in the county for motorists caught speeding and driving carelessly.
There were 717 fixed penalty notices issued to drivers who live in the postcode for a variety of offences last year, including two for speeding bus drivers.
In total, there were 1,398 drivers given fixed penalty notices across the CM7, CM8 and CM77 postcodes, which also cover Witham, Great Notley and Rayne.
Of those, 1374 were issued for speeding offences.
However, the total accounts for just 4.6% of the 30,173 offences committed by all Essex drivers and is just under half of the total in Chelmsford.
